Will I have flexibility in choosing travel nursing jobs?

As a travel nurse, you’re in charge of your career.  Talk to your TRS recruiter. Discuss your preferences for locations, facilities, clinical settings, and any other details that are important to you. Your recruiter will seek assignments that meet your requirements.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. The contractual relationship between you and your TRS recruiter is strictly on an assignment-by-assignment basis, typically 13 weeks long. You have the flexibility to choose travel nursing jobs that suit your lifestyle.

Where are TRS traveling nursing jobs located?

From Alaska to Florida, TRS has unique environments and facilities. We also sign new facilities on a weekly basis, so if we don’t currently have your dream assignment, odds are we can get it for you. TRS is the best at providing you with an assignment that most closely meets your needs!

What is a no cost contract?

A no cost contract is the belief that you taking a contract and going on a travel assignment shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg.  Credentialing requirements, state license and travel costs can mount quickly, especially on your first travel assignment.  TRS Healthcare exhausts every effort to make each and every travel assignment no cost on the front end of the contract.  Not worrying about the cost of an immunization or drug screen allows you to focus on starting an exciting new position and taking care of your patients.

Can I travel with family or friends to my assignments?

Yes. Travel nursing is a fantastic way to explore the country with your family or friends. Let your TRS recruiter know whom you will be traveling with to ensure you have housing that suits your lifestyle.

Do I need a new license for each state that I work in?

Each state has its own rules and regulations regarding licensure, with many offering reciprocity. TRS will work with you to ensure you obtain the required state licensing well before your start date.

What are the length of travel nurse assignments?

TRS staffs RN, LPN and Allied specialties on contracts from 4-52 weeks.

What types of medical facilities do you serve?

TRS primarily staffs acute care hospitals, but also offers assignments in clinic and behavioral health facilities.

Does TRS offer benefits such as health insurance?

You’re insured by the best group plan on every assignment, with high quality medical, preventative diagnostic and basic dental coverage, health screening benefit, routine well child, critical illness rider, and accidental death and life insurance.

What can I expect for a travel nurse salary?

Pay rates vary depending on the facility and location, as well as your specialty. But, with TRS you can earn approximately 30-40% more than traditional nursing assignments.

What type of housing do you provide?

It’s your choice on where you stay during your assignment. The TRS housing department will research high and low to find the best housing options available for you on each assignment. We will present you with 3 options, and assist you in getting set up with the option that works best for you.

What qualities will help me succeed in travel nursing?

If you’re flexible, have a positive outlook, excellent clinical skills, easily adapt to change, and are a quick learner, then you are ready for a TRS assignment.

Will I be on my own when I am on an assignment?

You are never alone, regardless of how far from home you are at the time. Working on a TRS assignment means you always have a team assisting you and contributing to your success.
